The UN has named the next 10 years the #decadeofaction. A decade to reach all 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals. To combat hunger, poverty and inequalities, to build a sustainable and green future for the generations to come.

A lot remains to be done if we are to achieve this. This is why Microsoft and Volkswagen launched 10toGO. The thinkathon and a collaboration platform for finding and kick-starting data-driven solutions to challenges related to SDGs.

We have brought together 20 teams from all over the world and more than 50 experts advising them in the subjects of SDGs, technology, as well as in developing a strong and clear vision. During 4 weeks the teams worked on refining their idea, obtaining the data, building a functioning prototype of their solution with MS Azure and refining their pitch. The result? Innovative approaches spanning subjects like sustainable transport, food redistribution, quality education, telemedicine and many others. And, most importantly, one winner --- Pina. An ambitious project building the tools to quantify and reward forest carbon capture by combining remote sensing technologies with AI.

We loved the intense journey of 10toGO and we are extremely grateful for all the hard work, help and exchange. We are now concentrating on providing the right support for the winners. If you want to know more about them and our participating teams, check the ‘participants’ page.
